I trust our Lord blessed you wonderfully with a hearty Thanksgiving season...
This may be the longest gap between posts since I began blogging in 2006. I plan to be back soon.
I do not say this often enough: I remain appreciative of the readership SBC Tomorrow has accumulated the last several years. Even by the most modest standards, we've not been perfect in our analysis of issues facing Southern Baptists nor in our interpretation of Holy Scripture I must unhappily admit. Nonetheless we have attempted to be as fair and reasonable as our own bias allows. I would like to think our common sense approach to both current issues and biblical hermeneutics stands, at least in part, as one of the reasons for the continued popularity of this site. But whatever the reason, I remain grateful to God for what literary skills He chooses to bestow upon me.
Lord, be merciful to me a sinner...
Praying that all is well! You spoke of Hermeneutics and such. Just curious where did you go to seminary?

Hi Mike. I went to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary...

Peter,
I can't believe the sarcasm in your tone as you write those words, "New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary..." We all know that the ellipses you chose to use demonstrates a derogatory, denigrating, malicious, and slanderous spirit.
Why throw the ellipses in there if you didn't mean anything by it? Could you not simply have ended the sentence with a period to demonstrate that you meant no ill-will towards NOBTS? No. You could not. You had to subliminally suggest to your readers that there is something sour and wrong with NOBTS.
Why must you be so divisive?
Your Brother in Christ,
Joe

Joe,
Typical son-in-law comment ;^)

Bro. Peter,
I bet Joe is tough to put-up with around the holidays. You know he cut a hole in my mom's Christmas tree one year (and then laughed about it...alot). Crazy youth pastors!

Joe,
You cannot imagine how many times I've read a similar form of your comment over these last 6 years. It indicates you've often paid close attention to the comment thread for sure... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Wm,
What a hoot! :^) I never have heard Joseph say anything like that but I guarantee he will hear about it every Christmas from now on when he gets around Kathy's tree :^0
Good to hear from you both...

I am new to the blog so I can't tell if all of this is in jest or not. All I know is that I went to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and am about to graduate there in two weeks. I enjoyed my time there!
By the way Peter, thanks for answering.

Mike,
Nah - Just giving Peter comments to manage during his downtime.
Will,
Neither you nor I would like to rehash memories on this blog...I only trimmed the tree minimally. As I recall, I was only the helper...
Peter,
Don't believe everything you read on the internet.

The comment above is in jest I assure. Unfortunately, many comments in the blogging sub-culture are not.
Oh, and Congrats!

Joe,
Thanks for the clarification.
Peter,
Thanks for the congratulations. Its been a long journey that started in 2004 with me leaving Southern Seminary for a host of reasons to then be led by God when I did not realize to finish at NOBTS.

Peter, you sure are racking up a lot of comments for a non-subject piece! Your faithful readers have missed your unhappy admissions, imperfect analysis, fair and reasonable bias, common sense hermeneutics, popularity, literary skills, and repentance. Get back to work!
