Below is Dr. Norman Geisler's latest response to neo-evangelicalism's newest attempt to undermine and perhaps even deny biblical inerrancy. While Southern Baptists had hung up their guns thinking they had won the shootout with Liberals/Moderates over biblical inerrancy during the eighties and early nineties of the last century, we find ourselves once again facing the issue. The difference is, we're having to strap on our pistols and shoot it out with evangelicals! What a shame. And, even though the piece is longer than a usual blog post, please take the... Read more →

Everywhere you look people are packing on the pounds. It’s become epidemic. We live in a nation full of people who are “pleasingly plump.” Are Americans really all just gouging day in and day out on Whoppers and fried Twinkies? Or is it maybe a little more complicated than that? >>> SBC Tomorrow welcomes Mary England as Guest Contributor I love good ol’ American comfort food. No fancy expensive restaurant for me. Bob Evans does just fine. Do I want the country fried steak smothered in country gravy or the... Read more →

So here we are at your (fill in state name) convention and as sure as the sun sets in the west someone is going to really show deem ol persnickety teatotelers a thing or two about a thing or two! They are going to go the floor and present a motion on gluttony. Take that you old dudes, you! “If we can’t have our alcohol you can’t have your Golden Corral!” They are gonna pull out the scales and the measuring tapes to show just who the real sinners are... J.I. Packer assesses the Calvinist mindset: via robfaircloth.com Rob Faircloth is pastor of the Covenant Grace Baptist Church in Troy, Alabama. Quoting from a piece James Packer wrote in the sixties, Faircloth concludes: It is difficult to find a more pithy statement of the issues appropriate to the Calvinist-Arminian divide today...Forty-six years ago Packer saw the caricature of Calvinism as anti-evangelistic, and sought to correct the error in part...by citing men who were ardently evangelistic because they were Calvinists (italics original) First, I personally appreciate Packer's contribution to conservative Christianity.... Don't ever buy another small kitchen appliance from any other retailer: Williams-Sonoma is the ultimate pleaser in customer satisfaction. Here's why >>> In 2003, Kathy and I entertained frequently at our downtown Atlanta loft. Hence, we invested in an espresso machine. We started out with a small Francis Francis which makes a delightful espresso but it just took much too long to keep the guests' cup filled. I ended up being a full-time barista leaving all the hosting to Kathy (secretly, I kinda enjoyed that because Kathy shines in the... Read more →

In an impassioned piece on why he believed Herman Cain was innocent of the dubious charges brought against him, Arlington, Texas pastor, Dwight McKissic wrote: >>> The purpose of this article is not intended to endorse Herman Cain for president; but rather to defend Mr. Cain against the scurrilous, scandalous and shameful attacks on his character... Why are these charges being brought to the public’s attention at this point? The answer is obvious. Mr. Cain has thus far done the impossible. Who would have ever thought that an American Black...
