Carrying on the great, 25 year tradition of inspiration, encouragement, and love for the local church pastor, First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida is in the final preparatory stages for the 2011 Conference. This year's theme is endurance and will be held January 28-February 1.
Dr. Mac Brunson, Senior Pastor, FBC Jax, rightly observes that while some pastors are concerned about enduring until they retire, so many pastors today are struggling with how to endure to the end of the week!
Here's a peek:
Dr. Brunson obviously is attempting to reach out to the broadest sectors within the Southern Baptist Convention, and his platform illustrates this nicely. Included are seasoned conference preachers like the indefatigable Junior Hill, Paige Patterson, Howard Hendricks, Johnny Hunt, and Pastor Emeritus, First Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Jerry Vines. In addition, not only are some more recent conference circuit riders like David Platt and Jimmy Scroggins on the platform, which will heavily appeal to the rising young leadership in the SBC, but also are scheduled seminary presidents, professors, and college presidents including Chuck Kelly, David Allen, Al Mohler, Emir Caner, and Ergun Caner.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT REGISTRATION
May our Lord do a mighty work through this men, assisting pastors everywhere to endure.
With that, I am...

I want to comment and I don't quite know how to phrase this - is this conference like half and half of those whom certain factions hate, loathe, and dispise and yet the other half is filled with those these same factions hero worship? I wonder at the struggle of the "conference" going types are having "do I miss the chance to sit at the feet of my idols because they've chosen to be at the same conference as these reprobate?" Kinda amusing to imagine the discussions some are having about this conference.
