I can't wait to try this in Orlando!

Maybe we can also do the Gospel Dynamite Duck Duck Goose or for our founders friends the Reformation Red Rover. LOL

Wow.

Before coming to Christ, I owned a 700 seat night club (back in the 1970's); I've seen this same kind emotion to a great rendition of Stairway to Heaven on the dance floor.

But, this is a Church right?

Peter,

As long as it pleases the crowd and gets the crowd in Church, right? lol.

I think we might try Christian country line dancing. What do ya think about that? As long as we dont have any songs about drinking and sleeping double in a single bed?

Brother Peter,

In all honesty, I am still speechless. I have been in churches where they have had healing lines and I have been in places where the Spirit of God overwhelmed congregation. But at neither place were we worked into a frenzy by the music.

We need to be discerning as Christians and test the spirits. The situation of singing "Hokie Pokie" as something to work us up in a frenzy is what Moses heard when he came off of Mt. Sinai. The scripture records in
Exodus 32:15-19(NKJV)
15 And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tablets of the Testimony were in his hand. The tablets were written on both sides; on the one side and on the other they were written.
16 Now the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets.
17 And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, "There is a noise of war in the camp."
18 But he said: "It is not the noise of the shout of victory, Nor the noise of the cry of defeat, But the sound of singing I hear."
19a So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that he saw the calf and the dancing.

This is exactly what I see in this video. The difference is there is no Golden Calf but there is a self-centered worship going on.

Blessings,
Tim

Well... here I was amazed that a church would drop Easter eggs filled with prizes (like plasma screen t.v.s)from a helicopter as an outreach gimmick.

In that case, kids ended up getting elbowed out of the way by greedy adults. At least in this one, they just forgot to pull there heads out and shake them all about!

Peter,

You know, this video is not much different than what goes on in a lot of Churches that are "Southern Baptist" or "Evangelical" where the Pastors are trying to get a crowd...except without the charismatic, healing part.

Sad.

Wow! Just think what the Apostles could have accomplished if only they had known the Hokey Pokey song?

When they stuck their heads in and "shook it all out" -- they really did shake it all out.

This is really sad and scary.

April Fools?

This really is an unfortunate moment. With as much confusion as all of us encounter in various contexts--parish, class, foreign field, people's homes, etc--it's hardly imaginable for something to be more spiritually, biblically sterile than this.

With that, I am...

Deeply disturbing at soooo many levels.

Matt,

If you had taken the time to read, I explained the comment thread was only temporarily closed. Indeed the comments were already opened when you logged here.

Now, let me be clear: my site does not exist for you to "state your piece." The thread is open for legitimate contributions to the discussion under question. Hence, to become so obsessed with one's goal to "say one's piece" so to speak, logging the remark on a completely unrelated post reflects the precise attitude which nudged me to temporally shut the thread down.

You, Matt, are a guest here. I advise you to act like one.

With that, I am...
