Below are some helpful study links....Maybe...
Be warned, however. The content on these sites is for serious readers only. No blogger dumbing down the messy details.
Nor are all papers biblically or baptistically sound. Also, some are conservative, some on the extreme theological left. Yet most represent scholarly presentations nonetheless (NOTE: some journals are now defunct but contents are still available. Also, some have only partial availability).
Save them in your bookmarks or download the papers to searchable pdf files.
And, the best part???............................
Journal of Hebrew Scriptures-The Journal of Hebrew Scriptures (JHS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access, journal established in 1996 to foster scholarly research on the Hebrew Bible, Ancient Israel’s History and cognate fields of studies.
The Denver Journal (Denver Theological Seminary)--Conservative scholarship with academic papers by Craig L. Blomberg, William W. Klein, Douglass Groothius and many other evangelical scholars.
The White Papers at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary--prepared mostly by academia but very accessible reading for most biblical disciples. Of course the papers are also heavily saturated in the free church theological perspective.
Journal of Religion & Film--an academic journal from the philosophy and religion department of the University of Nebraska. Serious readers only. Moreover, expect some wild ideas with frequent dashes of libertarian salt.
Journal of Southern Religion--The Journal of Southern Religion is sponsored by the Association for the Study of Southern Religion and receives collaborative support from Florida State University, Louisiana State University as well as other secular and private universities. The articles appear historically judicious and fairly free of sectarian reductionism.
T.C: A Journal of Biblical Textual Criticism--if you cannot handle the biblical languages or grasp the fundamental principles of textual criticism, this journal will only waste space in your bookmarks (for the record, no, I do not have this site in 'my favorites').
The Saint Anselm Journal--definitively Catholic and especially, as the title reveals, revealing of the best in Medieval theology with its concentration on Saint Anselm and the angelic Doctor himself, Saint Thomas Aquinas. The journal is for the person philosophically astute but bears much fruit in understanding the influences leading to the many Reformations.
Grace today.
With that, I am...
Peter
