For the last several Wednesdays, I've been a guest teacher at a large church in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Our subject has focused on the history of redemption, particularly the doctrine of redemption since the Reformation. For two sessions, we've briefly surveyed the Synod of Dort. Thorwald Lorenzen was for years professor of systematic theology and ethics at the International Baptist Seminary in Ruschlikon, Switzerland. He earlier had taught New Testament at the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (1971--1974). Lorenzen's contribution has perhaps mostly been in the field of ecumenical studies.
