"Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them." (Isaiah 42.9)
Scripture reveals that the God of the Bible is a God of action. He makes things happen. The former things have come to pass. What things are here referred? All things He Himself planned. God is sovereign over all and no thing happens per chance. Therefore, God brings about His will. That makes God, God.
And new things I declare. God’s activity is never stagnant. Rather His work is dynamic. He works fresh things in this world. Even before they spring forth, He tells us of them. God is Author of prophetic utterance. He speaks in advance what He plans, as He wishes. And His power is such, no one can stop what God desires to bring to pass. Selah...
Father God. Our puny, little minds fail to comprehend Your Might and Power. No One is like You, O God! Your Strength, Your Power, Your Majesty…They are too much to take in! O Glorious Savior, with Your Might, touch my feeble life and make it useful…Use Your Power to cleanse my heart…Surround me with Your Shield. Amen.
