"The LORD is the strength of my life"
(Ps 27.1)
Ever been told to eat your spinach so that you will grow strong and healthy? Do you take vitamin supplements to enhance daily intake of necessary nutrients? Are you walking two miles every day like your doctor suggested?
None of the these things is surely bad for you. To the contrary, they serve as disciplines to keep you healthy and fit.
Yet there is a strength that we must pursue that, neither alone nor together, the above can satisfy. This strength keeps my life from falling apart and supplies me with all my soul longs for.
This power is what pushes every Believer’s heart rate up. This strength settles all inner conflicts and makes whole your life in every way. No other physician need you consult when you take this medicine—The LORD is the strength of my life! Selah
Father. I have all my playthings gathered here for you. I want to offer them on your altar. I no longer desire these toys of mine. So much my life consists of pursuing this or playing that. Make me this day, my God, utterly single-minded…solely single-focused. May all else fade to the background. May my heart be fixed only on You. Amen.
