Many readers know William "Bill" Harrell on this site since he has offered several guest contributions >>>
Since 1981, Harrell has served as Pastor of the historic Abilene Baptist Church in Martinez, Georgia. Abilene Church is one of the oldest churches in Georgia founded in 1774 by the legendary Separate Baptist, Daniel Marshall, and was originally known as Red’s (pronounced Reed) Creek Baptist Church. Pastor Harrell is well-known in Southern Baptist denominational life, having served on various boards and committees at both state and national levels. Indeed from what we can tell, our brother Harrell has served longer on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention than any other person.
"A search committee to find a new pastor for Abilene has been formed, and a candidate for the position will go before the church on March 25 for a vote, Harrell said. Harrell’s successor will become a co-pastor at the church and will work with him to learn the pastoral duties"
We wish our brother Harrell the best. We also hope the best for the new pastor at Abilene church.
With that, I am...
Peter

Brother Bill,
That is what would do SBTS and SEBTS some good. Send some representatives to Brother Bill Harrell's church and let them speak to some of his members. I would pay to hear those conversations. :)
Brother Peter,
Did you notice what the journalist said they called Brother Bill? The General. :)
Blessings,
Tim
